John Grace Foods was born out of a love for simple, soulful cooking, crafted by our founder, Michael Griffin. Michael’s roots run deep in the Southern countryside, where food is more than just a meal – it’s a family gathering, a warm memory and a slice of home. From a young age, he was drawn to the kitchen, stirring up all kinds of creations and adding a bit of his own flair. Saturdays started with the smell of buttery biscuits rising in the oven, and fluffy pancakes sizzling on a hot griddle. Grocery store trips were few and far between, so meals came from what was on hand – real, honest ingredients that didn’t need fancy extras.
Michael eventually became a skilled craftsman, like his father before him, taking him to new places for work. But no matter where he went, his heart stayed true to Southern flavors and family meals. Every time he sat down to a big breakfast, his mind went to work, figuring out how he could bring those flavors back home. With each trip, he collected recipes and ideas, always coming home eager to test them out with his family around the table.
The spark for John Grace Foods started on one of those mornings, with Michael at the stove, cooking breakfast for the people he loved most. He wanted more than a meal – he wanted something that tasted like home and felt like family. So, he rolled up his sleeves and set out to craft his own versatile mixes, aiming for a down-home taste that was both simple and satisfying. Every mix he made was easy, practical, and packed with the kind of goodness you can taste.
